Student electrocuted at Mambago-B National High School, invstigation ongoing

One of two students who were electrocuted inside Mambago-B National High School in Samal City, Davao del Norte died on Saturday, according to the Department of Education.

A police investigation is ongoing and has revealed that the incident was caused by a live wire from Northern Davao Electric Cooperative (Nordeco).

The DepEd expressed condolences for the family of the deceased student and concern for the other injured student's recovery.

Local DepEd officials are conducting hazard assessments and safety drills to ensure the safety of all students and teachers.

An inspection of all cables and facilities within the campus will be carried out to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The DepEd is coordinating with local government and Nordeco to address this matter urgently while providing support for affected families.
