PSEi up 0.65%; peso steady vs dollar

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose on Thursday, increasing by 0.65 percent to 6,903.75 points.

Most sectoral gauges also finished up, with Holding Firms leading the gains at 1.22 percent, followed by Property and Financials.

The peso remained stable against the US dollar, closing at 48.08 from 48.019 a day earlier.

On Tuesday, the PSEi had already gained 0.78 percent to close at 6,867.88 points, driven by positive sentiment from rebounding US stock markets and better-than-expected earnings reports.

Volume on Thursday totaled PHP10.42 billion with gainers leading losers at 123 to 99, while volume on Tuesday was PHP10.66 billion.
