SSS, CFO partner to cover JO, COS workers

The Social Security System (SSS) and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) have forged a partnership to extend social security protection to Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) workers within the CFO.

Through the newly-launched KaSSSangga Collect Program, these workers, who are not typically covered by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), will be registered as self-employed SSS members.

SSS President Robert Joseph Montes De Claro emphasized the agency’s commitment to supporting the CFO's mission and ensuring these workers receive deserved protections.

The CFO will serve as an authorized partner, facilitating the collection and remittance of SSS contributions through a salary-deduction scheme.

As SSS members, these workers will be eligible for a range of benefits including sickness, maternity, retirement, and death benefits, as well as access to loan programs.

The initiative also allows regular CFO employees to continue their voluntary SSS contributions.

This collaboration aims to strengthen the social and economic ties of Filipinos while providing crucial financial security for these workers.
