Legislator seeks special session for economic stimulus bills

Albay Representative Jose Maria Salceda has requested President Rodrigo Duterte to call for a special session of Congress to pass critical economic measures, including the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises Act (CREATE).

Salceda stated that the House aims to finalize its stimulus recovery program before adjourning on June 3.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III also suggested the possibility of a special congressional session if pending bills like CREATE are not passed due to time constraints.

Despite the limited timeframe, Salceda and Dominguez expressed optimism about Congress passing the Duterte administration’s second tax reform package.
