Duterte delivers fifth SONA, focuses on recovery plans

President Rodrigo Duterte delivered his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, focusing on recovery plans and improvements to the healthcare system.

The speech was well-received by Senator Bong Go who described it as 'inspiring' and highlighted measures against the ongoing pandemic.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque rated Duterte's SONA a near-perfect nine out of ten, praising its key points on fighting the pandemic and addressing immediate needs.

Duterte’s speech also included threats to oligarchs and mentioned 21 priority bills for the remaining two years of his presidency.

The President acknowledged imperfections in the government response but emphasized the need for cooperation from Filipinos to overcome the crisis.
