SMC-CPC to award NCAA for 100 years of excellence

The San Miguel Corporation-Collegiate Press Corps (SMC-CPC) will present a Special Citation Award to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in recognition of its 100 years of excellence as the country's oldest collegiate league.

With the theme 'Siglo Uno: Inspiring Legacies,' the NCAA continues to nurture athletes across various sports, from high school to college level, and has produced standout players who have gone on to compete at international levels.

In its centennial year, Mapua University ended a 33-year title drought in basketball by preventing San Beda's back-to-back championship feat, while other schools like Arellano University won their first men's volleyball title and De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde extended their women's volleyball championship streak.

Beyond basketball, the NCAA has also celebrated numerous breakthrough wins in sports such as football, swimming, and esports during its Season 100.

On June 30, the NCAA will be honored at the SMC-CPC Awards Night hosted by the Philippine Sports Commission, Pilipinas Live, and GMA in Ortigas, Pasig.
