SMC, AGDC break ground for Ayala Greenfield Interchange to improve Calamba traffic

On Monday, October 14, San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Ayala Greenfield Development Corporation (AGDC) broke ground for the Ayala Greenfield Interchange project in Calamba City, Laguna.

The interchange will connect South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 3 to local roads, improving access for travelers to natural spring resorts and providing a direct route from Ayala Greenfield Estates to SLEx and STAR Tollway.

DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport Jesus Ortega emphasized that the project aims to ease traffic congestion and enhance opportunities in Calamba City and the wider Calabarzon region.

Ayala Land Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala highlighted the interchange's role in supporting long-term growth in Calabarzon, benefiting residents of nearby communities such as Ayala Greenfield Estates.

SMC Chairman Ramon Ang stated that this initiative aligns with their larger plan to expand and enhance southern tollways, including converting SLEX into a 6-lane expressway by the end of the year.

Construction of the interchange will commence next month, marking a critical infrastructure development aimed at enhancing connectivity and driving economic growth in Southern Luzon.
