SM collects over 157,000 kg of trash in marine cleanup efforts

SM Prime has emerged as a key player in environmental conservation, particularly in reducing marine pollution.

In 2024 alone, SM collected over 157,425 kg of trash during its cleanup initiatives, preventing it from entering the oceans and harming marine life.

The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) in 2024 marked SM's tenth consecutive year of participation, engaging over 23,320 volunteers across 15 malls.

SM continues its environmental efforts through regular monthly cleanups at SM By the Bay and invites community members to join upcoming events on World Oceans Day, International Coastal Cleanup Day, and National Youth Climate Action Day.

Through proactive cleanup activities and robust waste management initiatives, SM addresses both marine pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to its Net Zero 2040 initiative.
