Slovenian FM supports Asia security initiatives, condemns WPS aggression

Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon expressed support for initiatives promoting security in Asia during a joint press conference with Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo.

Fajon emphasized that Slovenia's experience as part of NATO provides the best guarantee for collective security and that alliances fostering peace through dialogue are beneficial.

Manalo noted there have been no formal discussions about creating an Asian version of NATO but acknowledged the dynamic nature of partnerships and arrangements in addressing security challenges.

Fajon also condemned dangerous maritime aggression in the West Philippine Sea, calling it unlawful and disturbing, while reiterating Slovenia's full solidarity with the Philippines amid continuing incidents within its exclusive economic zone.

Slovenia stands committed to elevating bilateral relations with the Philippines in areas such as trade and investments, energy security, space cooperation, science and technology, sports, and people-to-people exchange.
