Skeletal remains of 3-5 people found at DOJ construction site

Skeletal remains belonging to three to five people were found at a construction site within the Department of Justice (DOJ) compound in Manila on Thursday, November 24.

Construction workers discovered the bones while digging for the foundation of a four-storey building being constructed behind the main DOJ building.

Justice Undersecretary Brigido Dulay said they treated the discovery like any crime scene and immediately turned over the remains to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano estimated that three to five sets of skeletons were found near the surface, and they plan to meet with forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun for further investigation.
