Sipcor implements measures to fix power shortages in Siquijor

Siquijor Island Power Corp. (Sipcor) announced on Tuesday that it has initiated corrective measures to address ongoing electricity shortages on Siquijor, a popular tourist destination in the Visayas.

The company completed maintenance for one of its units, providing an increase of 7,550 kilowatts to the facility's capacity and deployed a generator set to manage supply.

Sipcor plans to fully restore power within the week as another unit undergoes corrective maintenance and awaits the arrival of a 2-MW modular generator set from Palawan Electric Cooperative.

With increasing demand due to economic growth and population rise, Siquijor is experiencing a power supply deficit leading to rotational outages.

The company assured customers that technical teams are working diligently to restore power quickly and safely.

Siquijor has been declared under a state of calamity due to its ongoing power issues.
