Shai Nitura caps historic season with record-breaking performance

Shai Nitura and the Adamson Lady Falcons concluded their historic season with a victory over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, finishing in fifth place despite not reaching the Final 4.

Nitura scored 22 points against UP but ended her four-game streak of scoring more than 30 points per game. She finished the season as the UAAP single-season scoring record holder with 371 total points, breaking multiple records.

Adamson head coach JP Yude highlighted Nitura's growth in attitude and leadership throughout the season, emphasizing that character is just as important as talent.

Nitura expressed that Adamson needs to work harder if it wants a bigger spot in the UAAP for Season 88, noting that the collegiate level requires significant effort.

In addition to Nitura's contributions, Mayang Nuique and Frances Mordi also contributed significantly with double-digit points, while setter Fhei Sagaysay recorded 17 excellent sets.
