PNP injures 7 in raid to capture Quiboloy

Seven policemen were injured during ongoing operations to capture fugitive Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), at their compound in Davao City.

Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said six officers received medical treatment while one was treated on-site; she stressed that police did not initiate violence despite being attacked with monobloc chairs and sustaining injuries such as broken noses, bruises, and cuts.

Fajardo also accused KOJC members of staging injuries to falsely accuse the police, noting that videos showing alleged abuse by police are being authenticated for verification.

The PNP is searching for an underground bunker where Quiboloy may be hiding; ground-penetrating radar indicates signs of life in a specific area within the compound.

Police arrested 18 KOJC members for obstructing justice and impounded vehicles used as barricades by protesters, with charges including child abuse and human trafficking against Quiboloy and five other KOJC members.

Additionally, two alleged victims of human trafficking were rescued from the KJC compound on Sunday.
