Garbin urges Senate openness on economic Cha-cha

House Committee on Constitutional Amendments chair Alfredo Garbin says the measure seeking amendments to 'restrictive' economic provisions in the 1987 Constitution may pass this week.

Garbin urged senators to be open to proposed changes, noting that they are long overdue and would improve investment climate and job generation.

The proposed amendments include adding the phrase 'unless otherwise provided by law' to certain economic provisions, giving Congress flexibility to alter restrictions when necessary.
