Historical trends suggest that mid-term Senate elections tend to consolidate power under the ruling coalition, except for 2007 when an opposition-led slate won. In presidential election years since 1987, winning candidates have rarely carried a majority of Senate seats; voters often seek balance by electing at least one opposition candidate and two independents.

Both polls also noted an unexpected surge in the ratings for entertainer and TV host Rolly Revillame, drawing comparisons to Robin Padilla's surprising success in 2022.
