Senate urges DSWD to release P83B in undisbursed funds

The Senate adopted a resolution on Monday urging the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to release P83 billion in undisbursed funds to assist typhoon victims and displaced workers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, who authored the resolution, emphasized the need for these funds to be used immediately as deliberations on next year’s national budget are ongoing.

The resolution highlights that around P70.6 billion of the unused funds are earmarked for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
