Senate to hold public hearing on Apollo Quiboloy

Senator Risa Hontiveros announced that her committee will soon schedule a public hearing for Apollo Quiboloy, the self-proclaimed 'appointed son of God' and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Hontiveros said she plans to write to the proper court to ensure Quiboloy's presence in line with a standing warrant issued by the Senate.

She intends to question him about recruiting members through various forms of exploitation, including alleged human trafficking and sexual abuse involving the KOJC.

Quiboloy was arrested on September 8 and is facing arrest orders from courts in Davao and Pasig, as well as warrants for violations of child protection laws and human trafficking.

The Supreme Court granted the Department of Justice's request to transfer Quiboloy's sexual abuse case from a court in Davao to Quezon City to prevent a miscarriage of justice.
