Senate suspends work Tuesday, PAGASA forecasts heavy rain

The Senate announced on Monday that it will suspend work on Tuesday, August 26, due to heavy rainfall forecasted by the state weather bureau PAGASA.

However, the Commission on Appointments will proceed with its scheduled activity at 10:00 a.m. in the Senate Session Hall as mandated by the Constitution.

The suspension of work was issued following a memorandum circular from the Office of the President that applies to all government offices in Metro Manila.

According to PAGASA's forecast, the Southwest Monsoon and low pressure area are expected to affect weather conditions in several areas across the country.

In response, the Department of the Interior and Local Government announced suspension of classes and government work in several localities for tomorrow due to the bad weather.
