Senate to follow own schedule on economic const. amendments

Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara stated on Thursday that the Senate will follow its own schedule regarding the adoption of amendments to the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution.

Angara made this remark following the House of Representatives' approval of Resolution of Both Houses No. 7, which mirrors the Senate's RBH No. 6 containing specific economic amendments.

The senator emphasized that while the Senate is moving quickly, it has other priorities and will sponsor RBH No. 6 in plenary before the State of the Nation Address.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri confirmed during a briefing with Philippine media in Prague that the passage of the proposed amendments is on track, noting about three more hearings left before bringing the measure to plenary for voting.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. observed that both houses seem to be converging on a common path regarding this issue.
