Senate committee orders release of Nancy Gamo, lifts contempt order for Dennis Cunanan

The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality ordered the release of Nancy Gamo from detention on Monday following her cooperation during the probe into illegal POGOs.

Senator Robin Padilla moved for Gamo's release, which was approved by Senator Risa Hontiveros, the committee chair.

Gamo testified that she had served as Mayor Alice Guo's accountant in some of her companies but denied having knowledge of the Mayor's alleged illegal activities.

The Senate also lifted the contempt order against Dennis Cunanan, who appeared before the committee to testify as an authorized representative of POGOs in Bamban and Porac.

Cunanan admitted speaking with Mayor Alice Guo but denied allegations that he received Lucky South 99’s six months worth of arrears to PAGCOR.

Roque objected to efforts linking him to POGOs, while Ong, the authorized representative of Lucky South 99, is in Singapore and unable to testify.
