Senate ends debates on P4.5-T nat'l budget

The Senate concluded the period of interpellation for the proposed P4.5 trillion national budget for 2021 early Saturday morning.

Senators held marathon sessions since Monday, debating from as early as 10 a.m. until past midnight.

Finance committee chair Sonny Angara thanked colleagues for adhering to the schedule despite late hours and reminded them of Sunday's deadline for proposed amendments.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri suggested that the budget could be approved by Tuesday next week, November 24.

Before adjourning, Senator Richard Gordon advised present senators to monitor themselves for symptoms.
