Sen Villar calls for DOTr, DPWH update on EDSA decongestion plan

Senator Mark Villar has called on the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to provide an update on the status and accomplishments of the EDSA Decongestion Master Plan.

Villar emphasized the plan's importance for traffic flow, urban mobility, and economic activity in Metro Manila.

The master plan includes major infrastructure projects such as expressways, bridges, and alternative routes aimed at reducing congestion along EDSA and other key thoroughfares.

Among the flagship projects are Skyway Stage 3, the NLEX-SLEX Connector, the C5 Link, and several new bridges over the Pasig River.

Villar urged both departments to present a detailed report on completed projects, ongoing works, and future developments under the plan, stressing the need for these initiatives to deliver their intended benefits to the public.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting infrastructure programs that complement the EDSA Decongestion Master Plan to ensure efficient transport networks in Metro Manila.

The senator highlighted the importance of evaluating project progress to identify areas needing improvement and push for further enhancements.
