Sen Christopher Go criticizes ICC arrest warrant for Duterte

Senator Christopher Go, a long-time aide of former President Rodrigo Duterte, criticized the International Criminal Court's decision to issue an arrest warrant for Duterte.

He emphasized that the Philippines has withdrawn from the ICC and maintains independent courts capable of addressing legal issues.

Go also expressed concern over Duterte’s health, noting his upcoming 80th birthday and recent medical advice recommending hospital admission due to high glucose levels.

Other senatorial candidates from the Duterte-backed PDP Laban party echoed similar sentiments.

Progressive candidates, however, welcomed the arrest as a step towards accountability for victims of the bloody drug war.
