SEC opens new office in Koronadal to boost local business

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) inaugurated its fifth extension office in Mindanao on September 20, located in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

This new office is situated at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center along Alunan Avenue to provide corporate services such as company registration and compliance monitoring for local entrepreneurs.

SEC Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino emphasized that these offices make it easier for businesses in Soccsksargen, reducing travel time from Koronadal to Davao City by about three hours.

The SEC noted the importance of accessibility for encouraging economic growth and fostering closer collaboration with local governments, particularly highlighting the General Santos port as a key driver of regional development.

With 721,686 metric tons of cargo processed through the port in 2023, the Koronadal office aims to support Soccsksargen's growing economy and contribute to the SEC’s record-breaking company registration numbers.
