SEC implements mandatory online registration for companies
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has transitioned to a fully online and paperless system for company registration effective April 7, 2025.
Under this new system known as SEC Zuper Easy Registration Online (ZERO), applicants no longer need to submit physically signed or notarized documents.
Since its launch in July 2024, the SEC ZERO platform has facilitated the registration of 1,874 companies and will be mandatory for all domestic stock corporations excluding lending and financing firms starting April 7.
Lending firms, financing companies, and foreign corporations have a three-month grace period before they must adopt the new system on July 7.
SEC Chairman Emilio Aquino emphasized that digitalization helps Filipinos register their corporations anytime and anywhere, enhancing accountability through eSECURE and eSAP authentication processes.
