Sebastian Duterte becomes acting head of PDP Laban after Robin Padilla resigns

Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte has become the acting head of Partido ng Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) following Senator Robin Padilla's resignation.

Duterte won the vice mayor race for Davao City in the May 2025 elections and will now assume the presidency based on the party's rule of succession.

Padilla cited his intention to focus on legislative duties and push the party's agenda in the upcoming 20th Congress, stating that his involvement in the midterm elections had demanded much of his time and energy.

In a letter to Party Vice Chairman Alfonso Cusi, Padilla expressed his commitment to PDP Laban and loyalty to former President Rodrigo Duterte.
