OFWs can get Covid-19 jabs in Manila before deployment

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 announced that all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) leaving for their posts abroad can receive Covid-19 vaccine shots in Manila regardless of residency.

Seafarers and other OFWs scheduled to be deployed within the next four months are eligible for vaccination.

On Thursday, more than 1,200 seafarers received their first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines at Palacio de Maynila in Malate as part of a symbolic vaccination event.

Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso thanked the national government for allowing Manila to administer the vaccinations and welcomed the seafarers, expressing pride in them.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque explained that Pfizer vaccines are required at their destinations, ensuring that OFWs can board their ships and continue working.
