Scottie Thompson's World Cup availability uncertain as recovery progresses

Scottie Thompson's availability for Gilas Pilipinas' FIBA World Cup remains uncertain as he continues to recover from a metacarpal fracture.

Coach Tim Cone said that while Scottie is healing, his return date of August 18 might be too late given the tournament starts soon.

Thompson reported on Sunday that his hand is healing faster than expected and there is less pain compared to when the injury first occurred.
