SC concludes PhilHealth fund transfer hearings

The Supreme Court (SC) concluded oral arguments on Thursday regarding petitions seeking to block the transfer of PhilHealth's excess funds back to the national treasury.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo instructed all parties involved to submit their respective memoranda and amicus curiae briefs within 30 days, with no extensions allowed.

The oral arguments took place over five days from February 21 to April 3 at the SC compound in Baguio City.

Petitioners including Senator Koko Pimentel III and representatives of Bayan Muna are asking the SC to prevent the transfer of P89.9 billion in excess funds.

PhilHealth had already remitted P60 billion last year before a temporary restraining order was issued, halting the remaining P29.9 billion from being transferred.
