SC upholds dismissal of PCGG cases on Marcos, Tan

The Supreme Court upheld a 2012 Sandiganbayan ruling, dismissing the Philippine government's claim on Lucio Tan's company holdings and ending cases related to ill-gotten wealth against Marcos and his associates.

The SC dismissed the government’s petition for P51 billion in damages, citing insufficient evidence of ill-gotten wealth tied to Marcos and Tan.

The court also upheld dismissals of cases involving General Bank and Trust Co., Allied Banking Corp., and Asia Brewery Inc., rejecting claims that assets were illegally obtained.
