Gilas Pilipinas ends Nike deal, gets new gear for Feb games

Gilas Pilipinas will sport new gear this year after ending its nearly two-decade partnership with Nike.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) is currently finalizing a deal with a new outfitter and expects to announce the partnership soon, ensuring high-quality apparel compliant with tournament regulations for all national teams.

Gilas is expected to debut its new equipment in February during the final window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on Feb. 20 and New Zealand on Feb. 23.

Before that, Gilas has a scheduled training camp and pocket tournament in Doha from Feb. 15 to 17 against Qatar, Lebanon, and Egypt.

Nike has been the official outfitter since 2007, contributing to Gilas' rise in world rankings and appearances at major tournaments like the FIBA World Cup and Asian Games.
