Sara calls for charges over father's arrest

Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her desire for charges to be filed against individuals involved in former president Rodrigo Duterte's arrest.

Sara thanked Senator Imee Marcos for recommending criminal and administrative charges against officials from the Marcos administration who were involved in what she called an 'illegal' arrest of her father.

The Vice President challenged the current administration to file cases if it believes that the arrest was not politically motivated, noting that those responsible should face legal consequences.

Senator Marcos, as chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, released additional findings from her committee's investigation, recommending investigations into two Cabinet secretaries and three police officials involved in Duterte's arrest.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested on March 11 and is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, awaiting a hearing related to charges of crimes against humanity before the ICC court scheduled for September 23.
