Sara Duterte urges Filipinos to defend freedom from traitors

Vice President Sara Duterte reminded Filipinos on Thursday during Independence Day to fight for the country's freedom and not be swayed by traitors.

Duterte emphasized that the freedom enjoyed today is a result of the sacrifices made by Filipino heroes who fought against foreign domination, urging citizens to uphold their rights and respect the memory of these heroes.

The vice president warned that embracing servitude disrespects the struggles and sacrifices of Filipino families and violates their rights, desecrating the spirit of freedom.

In her speech, Duterte highlighted challenges such as corruption, drug problems, education issues, poverty, and hunger, urging Filipinos to defend their freedom from those who seek to undermine it.

Currently on a 'personal trip' in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Duterte is scheduled to attend an Independence Day celebration where she will consult with overseas Filipino workers for her office's program.

Duterte was joined by Senator Robin Padilla and other PDP-Laban allies during the event with OFWs in Malaysia.
