VP Sara rejects lawmakers' criticisms, calls herself out as 'spoiled brat'

Vice President Sara Duterte rejected criticisms from lawmakers during budget deliberations for her office's funds for 2025 and insisted she is not a 'spoiled brat' or acted like one.

In an interview shared by the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Duterte maintained that she responded to every question regarding her office's budget but noted that lawmakers did not like her replies.

Duterte reiterated that she deliberately avoided answering questions during the deliberations to defend herself from political attacks and stated that the Philippines' budget is controlled by only two people, though she did not elaborate further on this point.

She acknowledged that Congress has the power to deliberate on proposed budgets but chose to forgo the question-and-answer portion of the hearing, emphasizing that her office's 2025 budget proposal is available online.

During the five-hour deliberation, Duterte repeatedly declined to respond to concerns about past and future expenditures, saying she would leave it up to Congress to decide.
