San Miguel edges out Rain or Shine 120-111 in high-scoring game

San Miguel edged out Rain or Shine in a high-scoring game, winning 120-111 on Saturday at the Cagayan de Oro City Convention Center.

The Beermen led by as many as 25 points but saw Rain or Shine mount a late comeback to narrow the gap to just one point with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

CJ Perez and Don Trollano secured San Miguel's victory down the stretch, with Trollano scoring five consecutive points and Perez hitting a crucial four-pointer that restored order for the Beermen.

Perez led all scorers with 33 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals; Trollano added 24 points, while June Mar Fajardo contributed 20 points.

Rain or Shine's Andrei Caracut was instrumental with 24 points including five three-pointers, but the Elasto Painters fell to 6-4 on the season despite a valiant effort.

San Miguel improved their record to 7-2 and moved into second place in the standings, setting them up for a potential twice-to-beat edge against Converge on Wednesday, June 11.
