San Miguel eliminated from playoffs after loss to Hiroshima

San Miguel was eliminated from playoff contention after suffering a 94-63 defeat against the Hiroshima Dragonflies in Japan on Wednesday, January 8.

The Beermen struggled throughout the game as Hiroshima led with a 20-7 run early and maintained their advantage to secure their fourth straight loss in the East Asia Super League.

Torren Jones was San Miguel's top scorer with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while June Mar Fajardo added 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Hiroshima had five players score in double figures, led by Nick Mayo and Keijiro Mitani with 18 points each, as they improved to a 4-1 record and secured their playoff spot.

San Miguel will face Hong Kong Eastern at the PhilSports Arena on January 15 to try and salvage their campaign.
