DHSUD, San Juan mayor break ground on 1,029-unit affordable housing project

On Tuesday, March 18, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora and officials from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new residential building as part of the national government's Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino program.

The 30-storey, 1,029-unit housing project is located in F. Manalo Street, Barangay Batis and aims to provide affordable homes to over 1,000 informal settler families and low-income earners on a 2,577-square-meter lot area.

Each unit measures approximately 25 square meters and the building will also feature modern amenities such as a multipurpose area and essential facilities.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar emphasized that this project is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to address housing needs, with more projects expected across the country.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora expressed gratitude for the support received from President Marcos and DHSUD Secretary Acuzar in providing housing opportunities for all Filipinos.
