Lopez proposes partial reopening of uncertified gyms

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez is proposing that gyms without safety seal certification be allowed to operate at 20% capacity.

Lopez argues this will help gym operators resume business and boost consumer confidence.

Gyms with certification are currently permitted to operate up to 30% capacity in Metro Manila and nearby regions.

The DTI chief also urges the IATF to make safety seal certification voluntary, allowing gyms to reopen at minimal capacity before obtaining it.
