Russian vlogger arrested for harassment, back in BI custody

Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who was arrested for harassing a security guard and passersby in Taguig City, has been returned to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) holding facility after posting bail on June 18.

Zdorovetskiy, known for his controversial prank videos, faces three counts of unjust vexation which could result in up to 18 months in jail if convicted.

Despite posting bail, Zdorovetskiy remains under BI custody and cannot leave the country as he is considered an 'undesirable' foreign national.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that justice will be fully served as Zdorovetskiy must resolve his local cases before any deportation proceedings can occur.

A Change.org petition also alleges that Zdorovetskiy verbally assaulted a Filipino surfing instructor in Boracay, further complicating the legal situation.
