RTWPBs approve 7-8% daily min wage hike in Calabarzon, Central Visayas

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) for Calabarzon and Central Visayas have approved wage orders increasing daily minimum wages, effective September 30th in Calabarzon and October 2nd in Central Visayas.

In Calabarzon, the new wage range is from P425 to P560 per day for non-agricultural workers, with some areas receiving increases in two tranches. Agriculture workers will earn between P425 and P500 daily.

Central Visayas's new wage range is uniform across all sectors and areas, ranging from P453 to P501 daily.

These adjustments translate to a 7% to 8% increase in daily wages for approximately 1.2 million minimum wage earners, with an additional indirect benefit to about 2.7 million full-time workers earning above the minimum wage.

The wage hikes were unanimously approved by government, labor, and employer representatives and affirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive.
