Nearly 5M workers get PHP21-P75 daily wage hike

In 2024, nearly five million private sector workers in the Philippines received daily wage increases ranging from PHP21 to PHP75.

Wage orders were issued by 14 Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) across various regions including NCR, CAR, Regions 1 through 13, as well as Regions 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13.

Domestic workers in nine regions saw salary increases ranging from PHP500 to PHP1,100 with the monthly minimum wage now set at PHP7,000 for household helps in Metro Manila.

The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) amended guidelines to allow RTWPBs to initiate reviews within 60 days prior to their wage order anniversary.

Northern Mindanao was the latest region to grant an increase from P446 to P461, effective on January 12 with a second tranche starting July 1. The RTWPBs in Bicol and Davao have yet to issue wage orders due to ongoing recovery efforts from Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and consultations with stakeholders respectively.
