RTC grants Taguig injunction to control EMBO barangays

A regional trial court granted Taguig City a writ of preliminary injunction on May 22, extending its control over facilities and services in the disputed Enlisted Men's Barrios (EMBO) barangays.

The ruling allows Taguig to retain access to health centers, parks, covered courts, daycare centers, and other essential government properties since taking over these areas on May 6.

With this injunction, Taguig can now proceed with restoring services without interference from Makati, ensuring uninterrupted support for EMBO barangay residents.

Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano welcomed the court's decision as a victory for EMBO residents who had long been deprived of essential services and reiterated that the city will prioritize its people over politics.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay questioned Taguig's takeover, while incoming Makati Mayor Nancy Binay said she was open to discussing property issues with Cayetano to ensure uninterrupted access to social services.
