Roque denies multiple passports, DFA confirms one valid

Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque denied on Tuesday claims by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that he possesses more than one Philippine passport.

Roque stated he is currently using a single regular passport issued in July 2024 with a validity period until July 9, 2034, and an application for asylum in The Netherlands which has no blank pages left.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla previously alleged that Roque holds at least two regular passports, suggesting this violates the law.

The DFA confirmed on Thursday that Roque only holds one valid Philippine passport and all other previous ones have been cancelled according to regulations.

Roque's asylum application in The Netherlands is ongoing as part of his claim of political persecution following arrest warrants related to alleged involvement with Lucky South 99 POGO Hub.
