Romualdez praises Marcos Jr.'s US visit, new trade, defense pact

Leyte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez praised President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s official visit to the United States, which resulted in a new trade and defense arrangement.

Romualdez highlighted that the outcome of Marcos' discussions with US President Donald Trump provided broader market access for Filipino products and services, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The lawmaker emphasized that the agreement also includes deeper military partnerships, reinforcing peace efforts in the West Philippine Sea.

He noted that expanded market opportunities will provide more chances for farmers, fisherfolk, and local producers to earn and grow globally.

Romualdez stressed that President Marcos' diplomatic success demonstrates the Philippines' ability to be both principled and pragmatic in international affairs.
