Philippine leaders call for faster vaccine rollout

Government officials and leaders are calling for an accelerated pace of the Philippines' COVID-19 vaccination program.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque acknowledged the need to speed up vaccinations but noted limited vaccine supply, while Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated that achieving herd immunity could take 11 to 12 months if 450,000 people are vaccinated daily.

Vice President Leni Robredo urged faster vaccination rollout due to rising COVID-19 cases and the current slow pace of vaccinations.
