Leni Robredo files COC for Naga City mayor

Former Vice President Leni Robredo filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor of Naga City on Saturday, October 5.

Robredo was accompanied by her daughters Aika and Jillian, other family members, and close friends during the filing at the local Commission on Elections office in Naga City.

Her running mate, outgoing Camarines Sur Representative Gabby Bordado, also filed his COC for vice mayor, while Robredo's 'Team Naga' slate submitted their COCs alongside her.

Robredo emphasized that she does not intend to run for president in 2028 and reiterated her passion for community work, stating that she decided to run for mayor as early as June or July this year.

Over 2,000 Naga City residents participated in an extensive consultation process to screen aspirants and field nominees based on criteria including integrity, character, experience, and contribution to people's empowerment.

Before filing, Robredo visited the grave of her late husband, former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, who also served as Naga City mayor from 1988 to 2010.

Known for her advocacy of good governance, Robredo told reporters that she would prioritize transparency and policies driving economic progress if elected in 2025.
