Robina Gokongwei-Pe shares playful snake post on Facebook

Robina Gokongwei-Pe, chairman of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., shared a playful photo on Facebook referencing long-standing rumors about a half-man-half-snake creature at the mall.

Gokongwei-Pe's post included snake decorations and a humorous caption poking fun at the persistent urban legend from the 1980s, as she celebrated the Year of the Wood Snake in 2025.

In her social media update on Monday, January 27, Gokongwei-Pe emphasized that she is celebrating the Year of the Snake by referencing the mythical twin hidden in the fitting rooms of Robinsons Department Store.

The businesswoman's post has generated significant engagement on Facebook with over 4.4K reactions and more than 1K shares as of writing.

In 2018, Alice Dixson had already clarified that the 'snake man' was never real, dismissing the myth during a commercial promoting Robinsons Galleria's renovation.

Gokongwei-Pe recently stepped down as CEO of Robinsons Retail Holdings but will transition to chairperson, overseeing the company's 2,413 stores and 2,163 franchised stores of The Generics Pharmacy.
