Binay mocks Revilla's foot injury as reason for Zubiri's ousting

Senator Nancy Binay on Friday mocked claims that Senator Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr.'s injured foot led to the ousting of former Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Revilla acknowledged his injury as one trigger but emphasized there were several issues before it, stating, 'Move forward na lang tayo. Pwedeng isa sa naging trigger, pero bago 'yan, marami nang problema.'

Zubiri resigned from the Senate presidency on Monday amid rumors of enough votes for his ouster and was replaced by Francis Escudero.

Binay questioned whether an injured foot had more influence than powerful people, referring to a claim by Senator Ronald dela Rosa that Zubiri's refusal to allow Revilla to attend sessions virtually initiated his removal.

Revilla requested virtual participation due to an Achilles tendon injury, but Zubiri denied this request out of respect for Senate traditions.
