QC COVID cases drop significantly over three weeks

Quezon City's average daily COVID-19 cases have declined significantly over the past three weeks according to UP-OCTA Research.

The number of new daily cases dropped from 540 in the week ending August 16th, to 205 by September 6th.

Mayor Joy Belmonte attributed this positive trend to collective efforts by the city government, private sector, and residents.

Quezon City's reproduction number also decreased for five consecutive weeks, indicating reduced virus transmission.

The OCTA Research group has been instrumental in identifying hotspot barangays and aiding contact tracing efforts.
