Rep Ortega dubs Duterte 'father faker', warns of election disinfo

La Union 1st district Representative Paolo Ortega has called former President Rodrigo Duterte a 'father faker' during a press conference on Monday, Feb. 24.

Ortega accused Duterte and his allies of spreading fake news and disinformation about the current administration, referring to them as a 'factory of fake news', echoing Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin's statements.

He questioned the motives behind their actions, describing the Dutertes as 'super villains' who create false narratives despite efforts to solve problems and help citizens.

Ortega said he believes misinformation would intensify during the 2025 midterm election season due to poor performance in surveys by candidates backed by Duterte.

The representative urged these candidates to focus on presenting their platforms rather than spreading disinformation, as that is what people truly need.
